Centuries some say it migrated from ancient Arabia to Egypt other legends claim it came from India later the Romans would use the Phoenix on their coins they are said to have viewed the creature as symbolic of themselves and the Roman Empire's eternity that didn't come to pass however but the Phoenix nomenclature has permeated well into modern times the City of Phoenix Arizona uses the mythological bird on their seals and city flag this is on purpose as the city says the area had grown from the ruins of an older civilization elsewhere video games such as the Final Fantasy series have items named Phoenix downs that are used to revive dead characters some Final Fantasy games also feature a rendition of the creature players can summon to their aid and in x-men the Phoenix is something entirely different it is a force that seeks ultimate destruction usually through the mutant Jean Grey and her power level can rival Thanos with the gauntlet terrifying stuff right but there is so much more to explore.
